Students from SGCHS HOSA (Health Occupation Student Organization) spent time teaching SGCMS students about the dangers of Vaping. Farrar Grace Bankston, Elle Pennington, and Avery Boling will be participating in the state competition for HOSA this March. 6th and 7th grade students in Career Exploration learned about high school CTSO (Career Technical Student Organizations) and why they should decide right now to say “no” to vaping.

Each quarter students in 8th grade Career Exploration at SGCMS participate in the Leader’s Balanced Life Budgeting activity. Ms. Carrie Cantrell is the Community Engagement Specialist and the mother of two SGCMS students, Pierce, and Lynden. We appreciate this real-life simulation and what it teaches our students about budgeting, planning, and saving.

Mr. Marvin Sikes, the mayor of Humboldt, visited students in Mrs. Malone's Career Exploration classes. He talked with students about celebrating differences and working together toward a common goal. He challenged students to start good habits now and to focus on learning.

All middle school afterschool activities have been canceled. Tonight's Booster Club meeting has been rescheduled to Monday, March 3 at 6:00pm.

SGCMS will not be accepting any outside deliveries for Valentine's Day. Please do not have any gifts/treats delivered to the school. Thank you for helping us with this.

ATTENTION!!! As we continue preparing for our upcoming Mary Poppins production, we would like to extend an invite to "Tea with Mary and Friends"!!!
Come join us for tea and snacks, meet and greet with the cast, take pictures with your favorite characters, decorate your autograph book, and get a sneak peek of the show!!!

SGCMS, we can't wait to see you all at the Daddy Daughter Banquet tomorrow! Please read the following information before you arrive.
5-8th grade girls need to arrive to the back parking lot around 5:45. We will ONLY allow people to come in through the back doors by the gym for the safety and integrity of the event. Check-in will be at the door. There will be two tables for registration split
by the FIRST name of the adult bringing the student(s). One table for A-M another for N-Z. The dance will be from 6-8, with the 8th grade recognition starting at 6:15.
While your student is not taking pictures or making a bracelet, be sure to dance and have some complimentary snacks! Pictures are also included in the registration price and will be delivered to the students a couple of weeks after the event. If a student has
opted to attend the bracelet bar, we will have bags for the bracelet and encourage the adult with them to keep them in their pocket, just so they don't get lost or broken.
Thank you for attending this event that supports our middle school band program. We cannot do what we do without the support of our SGCMS community.

I know many of you may have had obligations and we wanted to make sure the recording was available for those who couldn’t make the webinar. The video will give a detailed description of high school options, including a spreadsheet to help families navigate their child's personal education plan. The items discussed during the video are shared below, along with the link for the video.
